ROYAL VISIT TO CRUMLIN ROAD GAOL

Posted on

On Tuesday 24th June, Dr Brown and two MVI pupils, Alice Kavanagh and Oliver McGowan, along with other teachers and pupils from North Belfast schools, were invited to be part of Her Majesty the Queen’s visit to the restored Crumlin Road Jail.  The First Minister, Deputy First Minister and the Lord Mayor of Belfast were also in attendance.  The pupils had the chance to meet the First and Deputy First Ministers, and Mr Robinson in particular was intrigued by the pupils’ maroon and navy honours blazers.  He recalled playing hockey against B.R.A. when he was a pupil at Annadale Grammar School.
