On Monday 29th September, Damien Magee, the Homelessness Prevention Coordinator from Simon Community NI, delivered an awareness-raising talk and workshop to two Form V GCSE English classes.

The pupils had been studying Simon Armitage’s poem “Give” which addresses the theme of homelessness and the workshop will afford the pupils an opportunity to discuss further homelessness and its related issues as part of a GCSE Speaking and Listening activity.

Damien’s message about  the reality, causes and effects, and the stereotypes which surround homelessness was effectively communicated and we are grateful for his time, thought-provoking presentation and his willingness to take questions from the pupils.
