The school library hosted a poetry competition ahead of National Poetry Day on Thursday 2nd October.  All poems were based on ‘remember’, which is the theme of this year’s National Poetry Day.  The standard of work submitted was exceptional.

Rachel Patterson (Form II) won first place with her poem ‘My son, my hero – Never Forget’.  Rachel was awarded with a £10 voucher to spend at the Book Fair.  Three runners-up were awarded with a £5 voucher to spend at the fair.  They were Holly McBride, Amelia McDowell and Tara McBride.  Form II pupil, Eva Hayward was also highly commended for her haiku entitled ’40 years on’.

Well done to all our entrants and of course, to our winners!
