This year’s Sponsored Walk, the 43rd, was held on the afternoon of Thursday 6th October. The charities which are benefiting are:
- Friends of the Cancer Centre: Based at the heart of the Cancer Centre at Belfast City Hospital, the charity funds life-saving and life-changing projects that make a real and lasting difference to the lives of thousands of local people affected by cancer.
- Homeplus NI Ltd: Homeplus provides a daily drop-in centre for foreign nationals and a nightly street outreach for rough sleepers providing a range of assistance including: meals, clothing, sleeping bags, emotional support, transport to accommodation and hospitals, first aid, advice regarding benefits, housing and employment, emergency accommodation and a health clinic.
- BRA Malawi Project: The school has links with a secondary and primary school and hospital in Malawi, which is one of the poorest countries in the world.
The Walk raised a total of £8,816.60 which has been divided between our three charities.
Special thanks go to the pupils of registration groups 1CA1 who raised £778.20 and to 1PO1 who raised £756.70, and also 1CU1, 1CA2, 1PO2, 1 SH2 and 2SH2 who all raised over £400.
