The 2nd Senior House Hockey tournament was played on Thursday 9th February on a bitterly cold evening at Roughfort.
Cairns the ‘superstar’ team were held to a draw by Shaw in an early match. Pottinger, the reigning champions, were also held to an early shock draw by Currie.
These set of results meant that the final match of the evening, Cairns vs Pottinger, would be the decider. A nil-nil draw looked to be most likely outcome in what was a tight encounter, one which would have meant the competition being decided on penalty strokes, but in the dying minutes Sasha Lawther popped up to score the winning goal for Cairns.
Well done to all of the girls who participated, and thanks to all of the supporters who braved the cold.
