On Friday 24th March, three Academy students attended the final of the All-Ireland Linguistics Olympiad in Dublin, in order to see if any of them would be eligible to represent Ireland in the International Linguistics Olympiad which will be held at the end of July.
After an early start, students: Jasmine Ross, Conor Foster and Daniel Quigley completed a two-hour examination in St. Laurence’s, Grangegorman followed by a group round in the afternoon.
AILO have contacted the Academy to announce that the students came 6th in Ireland in the group stage, furthermore, all students received commendation for their scores.
In addition to these excellent results, Daniel Quigley was asked to join the Ireland Linguistics Olympiad team, who will train and compete in Dublin.
