On Wednesday 3rd May, the AS and A Level Drama classes put on a showcase for pupils, parents and friends in Wingfield. The showcase consisted of 4 performances, all of which displayed a very high level of skill and understanding of drama theory.
The audience witnessed scenes from ‘The 39 Steps’ – a comic spy story; ‘The Donahue Sisters’ – a story of three sisters and their hidden secret; ‘Monsters’ – a play based on the tragic murder of James Bulger and ‘Cruel Kings and Mean Queens’ – a MVI-devised piece influenced by ‘Horrible Histories’.
It was very clear that the audience thoroughly enjoyed the evening, with some even moved to tears of both laughter and sadness.
Staff and pupils of the Drama Department would like to thank everyone who came to support the performers and we hope to see you at our next showcase.
