Tom McKibbin, Form IV, spent his Christmas holidays this year pacing the fairways and greens of several of the best golf courses in America at a number of prestigious Junior golf tournaments. After producing some exceptional performances, he won the 14-15yrs division of the Doral Junior Orange Bowl just before Christmas (with a 3 round score of -4), then played in the Orlando International Amateur Championship – which included 104 of the best college golfers – and secured an impressive 17th place.
But the best was yet to come – on Sunday 7th January, he was crowned the 2018 U18 Junior Honda Classic Champion. This tournament was played at the famous PGA National – a championship course of approximately 7000 yards in length and home of the USPGA tour event, the Honda Classic. Tom posted two rounds of 74 to finish on 148 and win the tournament by 1 shot. An incredible achievement – well done, Tom!
