Barclays Lifeskills came into school on Wednesday 10th and 24th January to deliver a course on building confidence and resilience and money skills. Twenty LVI/MVI pupils were involved in three workshops:
Facing Challenges: Challenges students to identify what personal barriers might need to be overcome in challenging situations and explore confidence and self-esteem.
Money Skills: Exploring bank accounts and credit cards Discusses and identifies the issues to consider when opening a bank account and explores the use of credit cards.
Renting Accommodation & Choosing Insurance Policies: Identifies issues to consider when renting accommodation, discusses situations that need an insurance policy and provides some top tips for choosing an insurance policy.
All of the workshops were very informative, well organised and appropriate to this age group. The workshops were fun and interactive and pupils were able to engage and question the Lifeskills facilitator. Pupils found the money skills activities very useful for life at university.
