Recently our Angus Youth Challenge Team travelled to the Bank of Ireland Headquarters to meet with the Agricultural Business Manager, Mr Richard Primrose, to discuss the financial status and challenges facing the Northern Irish beef industry. After many questions and much discussion our team left with a deepened understanding of the banking perspective of the beef industry and how producers must drive up productivity and efficiency if they hope to secure financial backing from investment sectors. The implications of Brexit were particularly interesting and our team took great interest in the banking strategies being used to prepare for the the uncertainty surrounding the exit from the EU. This meeting was part of the ongoing financial project being run by our team looking at the financial basis of beef production in NI.
Thank you to Mr Primrose (BoI) and Mrs Convery for helping to organise this visit.
