B.R.A. Documentary secures top spot in National Environment Competition.

A documentary made by Form One students has been awarded 1st Place in the ‘Young Reporters for the Environment Competition 2019’.

Five students completed an investigation into recycling contamination and discovered that a significant amount of our recyclable waste is being sent to landfill because the wrong items are being placed in our recycling bins. As part of their research, they visited Huhtamaki Recycling Plant in Dollingstown to collate information on the problems caused by recycling contamination.

The students were delighted to receive first place for their efforts. Their documentary can be viewed here:

Young Reporters for the Environment gives young people aged 11-25 a platform to research environmental issues and promote solutions through investigative reporting, photography, and video journalism.
