This year our Sponsored Walk raised a total of £9,319.09, which means that we will be able to provide cheques for £2,329.77 to each of our four charities.
Special thanks go to the pupils of registration groups 1CA1, 1CU1, 1SH1, 2PO2 and 3SH2 who all raised over £400 and to those of 2PO1, who raised a very impressive figure of £593.
As usual, we have divided our focus between charities working at home and those working in less developed countries.
The Acid Survivors’Trust (Bangladesh) and the B.R.A. Malawi Project received cheques for work overseas.
Simon Community Northern Ireland, which provides emergency accommodation advice and community support to people who are homeless or at risk of becoming homeless, and The 174 Trust, which facilitates a variety of essential community projects in North Belfast, received cheques for work in Northern Ireland.
Four pupils, Cameron McGaughey, Jay Hanna, Karly Wilkinson and Lauryn Smith, representing the two registration groups who made the largest contributions presented the cheques to the four charities on Tuesday 26th June.
