Tuesday 25th June

Two Academy pupils, Jordan Carlisle (MVI) and Andrew Forbes (V), will represent the Ulster Schools’ XI in their annual two day fixture against the Southern Schools’ XI at Rathmines in Dublin on the 26th and 27th of June.  Jordan will captain the Ulster Schools’ side.

Thursday 21st June

Congratulations to the Girls’ Cricket team who won the Super 8s Schools’ Cricket Cup. They defeated Banbridge Academy in the Semi-final and went on to play Wallace in the Final. After setting Wallace a target of 90 runs, the girls bowled them out for 33.  Congratulations to Captain Katie McConnaughie and player of the match Irish Alvarado.

Monday 17th June

Congratulations to Jordan Carlisle and Andrew Forbes on their selection for the Ulster Schools’ Cricket team to face the M.C.C. XI at Campbell College.  Jordan will captain the side in the match, which is to be played on Tuesday 18th June at 11.30am.

Siblings Jack and Max Burton have been selected for the Northern Cricket Union Under 15 and Under 13 squads, respectively.

Monday 10th June

The Junior Colts XI defeated Methodist College, Belfast by 7 wickets to reach the Semi-final of the Derriaghy Cup.  MCB were bowled out for 71 in 15 overs and the Academy reached the total in just 10 overs.

The Junior Girls’ Cricket team defeated Bloomfield Collegiate to reach the Semi-final of the 8-a-side cricket competition.

Saturday 8th June

All Academy cricket teams (1st XI, U15, U14, U13, U12) won their respective matches against Bangor Grammar School.  For the 1st XI, Suraj Tirupati scored 54 and Ben Kane took 5 for 25.

Monday 3rd June

1st XI players Jordan Carlisle (Captain), Ben Kane, Daniel McFadden, Andrew Forbes and Ross Bryans have all been selected for an Ulster Schools’ trial.  We wish them luck.

Tuesday 29th May

The Under 15 XI defeated Dungannon in the 2nd round of the Under 15 Schools’ Cup. The Academy recorded 211- 1 (Michael Wilson 106 not out). Dungannon were bowled out for 37.

The Under 12 XI lost by 7 wickets to Wallace with one over to go in the Centenary Cup.

Saturday 25th May

The 1st XI recorded another pleasing win; this time against R.B.A.I. by 4 wickets.  Jordan Carlisle scored 51n.o. and Ben Kane took 6 for 23.

Wednesday 22nd May

The 1st XI lost by 30 runs to an excellent Limavady Grammar School side in the Schools’ Cup.  We wish them well in the quarter-final and look forward to our next match, against R.B.A.I. on Saturday 25th May.

Tuesday 21st May

The Under 15 XI won in the Schools’ Cup by 65 runs.  Michael Wilson was 68 not out.  B.R.A. 113 for 1 off 20 overs.  Limavady were 47 all out.

Friday 17th May

The 1st XI 130-4 (Bryans 34 not out, McFadden 21) beat Wallace High School 108-5 (Forbes 3-11) by 22 runs.
