Congratulations to Abbie Brown, Emer Gribbon, Lauren McCullough and Kellie McLean who have been selected for the U19 Podium Netball Squad.
Rugby
On Saturday 21st September, the 2nd XV and Medallion XV played matches against Lurgan College, while the U14 and U13 XVs took on Lurgan Junior High School. The results were, as follows:
- 2nd XV won 14-5
- Med. XV lost 12-7
- U14 XV won 34-10
- U13 won 24-0
Hockey
The Hockey Club recorded a pleasing set of victories against Glenola Collegiate on Saturday 21st September.
- 1st XI won 6-0
- 2A XI won 1-0
- 2B XI won 1-0
- U14A XI won 4-1
- U14B XI won 6-0
- U13A XI won 1-0
- U13B XI won 1-0
Judo
James Reid (Form V) won a bronze medal in the Sainsbury’s School Games in Sheffield. This was a remarkable achievement considering he had just moved up a weight category (under 81kgs) and was fighting the best boys from around the United Kingdom and Brazil in the Under 19 class.
He was the only competitor from Northern Ireland to bring home a medal in Judo. Everyone in Belfast Royal Academy is thrilled by James’s continued success in Judo.
Golf
The B.R.A. Golf team of Kyle Higginson, Conor Magee, Stuart McComb and Pierce Clements competed in the Irish Schools’ Matchplay Championships qualifier earlier in the week.
Rugby
Academy old boy, and Ulster & Ireland international, Iain Henderson helped the Rugby Club officially announce its sponsorship deal with Bruces Hill Gourmet Farm Shop in a rather unusual way at Roughfort this week….
