Stunning Bake Off Entries Take The Biscuit
Heat 3 of the Great B.R.A. Bake Off saw the toughest part of the competition so far, with many students participating in the penultimate round of ‘Biscuits and Cookies.’
Judges Mrs Morrison and Mr Murphy were presented with a range of beautiful biscuits, including poppy seed and white chocolate cookies, Disney shortbread, chunky monkeys, Pavlova crumbles and butterscotch cookies. The tension was palpable as each entry was tried and tested for both taste and presentation.
In the end, an impressive range of entries were pipped at the post by Rachael Blaney’s astounding selection of Viennese whirls. Rachael prepared not just one, but three types of the dainty delight, which is notoriously difficult to bake.
Second place was awarded to Cody-Lee Gordon with her wonderful ‘Great Granny Lily’s Jam and coconut biscuits’. This was followed by Alice Gamble’s tasty ‘Jammie dodgers’ in third place.
Congratulations and well done to all who entered.
The sale of the bakes at lunch time raised £60 for the charity, Save the Children.
