L6 student, Kathleen Malone, has won the Seamus Heaney Award for Achievement for her poem, ‘Daniel’s Piano.’ 🦉🙌

Kathleen submitted her work through the ‘Poetry in Motion’ initiative, joining several other B.R.A. students whose poetry was also selected for the Community Arts Partnership Anthology – a collection of poems from schools across the province.

Kathleen was announced as the competition’s overall winner, with CAP CEO, Conor Shields, describing her poetry as “phenomenal work…it really deserves the upmost praise we can give. It was the stand-out individual poem in this year’s programme. It was so beautifully crafted with such a strong message.”
